The Foretellers search for a traitor as the Keyblade War approaches.
The story takes place in the Age of Fairytales, before the worlds were separated. The Master of Masters trains six apprentices in Daybreak Town known as the Foretellers. Five of them, Ira, Invi, Aced, each leads a Union of Keyblade wielders who travel through worlds drawn from the Book of Prophecies to defeat Heartless and gather light, known as Lux. Luxu the final apprentice is given another important task.
The Book of Prophecies describes a coming war in which darkness will prevail and the world will end. Before disappearing, the Master gives each apprentice a separate role. Ira is to lead, Aced is to support him, Invi is to observe the others and Gula is to find a traitor using a missing page from the book. Ava is tasked with gathering exceptional wielders called the Dandelions, who will escape the war and preserve the light.
The sixth apprentice, Luxu, is given the Master's Keyblade, No Name, and a black box. The Keyblade contains the Master's eye, allowing him to see future events as the weapon is passed from wielder to wielder. This is how he wrote the Book of Prophecies. Luxu must pass the Keyblade down, watch what happens and keep the box closed. He is told what is in the box, but we do not know.
After a dark Chirithy is discovered, Ira believes that a traitor is already among them. Aced grows frustrated with his leadership and attempts to form an alliance with Gula, despite the Master's rules against it. The others become suspicious, and their disagreements eventually turn into fights. Gula tries to gather enough Lux to summon Kingdom Hearts, hoping this will bring the Master back.
In the end, Ava continues gathering the Dandelions while the Foretellers remain divided. Luxu leaves to carry out his assignment. The film ends before the Keyblade War itself.
