The Foretellers
The five masked Union leaders whose divided loyalties helped bring about the Keyblade War and whose return begins the next stage of the saga.
The Foretellers are Ira, Invi, Aced, Gula, and Ava, and Luxu six Keyblade Masters trained by the Master of Masters. Ira leads Unicornis, Invi - Anguis, Aced - Ursus, Gula - Leopardus, and Ava - Vulpes. Luxu is given a special role to watch over the Master's Keyblade "No Name" which contains his all seeing eye, and a black box. Their masks represent animals and their names represent 6 of the 7 deadly sins. The black box has the name Superχ which implies the Master of Masters is associated with Pride.
Each receives a different task.
- Ira is to lead after the Master's disappearance.
- Aced must support him and step forward if necessary
- Invi must observe the others as a mediator fairly.
- Gula must investigate the Book of Prophecies and is given its lost page
- Ava must gather the Dandelions to preserve light beyond the coming war.
They do not all possess the same information.
Their fear of betrayal, competing judgments, and struggle over Lux (light) divide the Unions. Attempts to prevent the prophesied catastrophe instead help produce it. Union χ reveals a deeper plot of the Master. He intends to create strong hearts, including his own and those of his apprentices, to contain ancient Darknesses.
After Xehanort's defeat, Luxu summons Ira, Invi, Aced, and Gula to the Keyblade Graveyard and reveals that he has lived as Xigbar. Ava is absent, and her whereabouts are unresolved but Luxu suggests she has played her part.
The End of KHIII suggests that the new Threat for the Lost Master saga will be the Foretellers and the 13 Darknesses.
For KHIV, the returned masters connect the present directly to the age of fairy tales. Their full intentions should not be reduced to an assumption that all five will simply replace Organization XIII as bosses; the revealed story has not established every master's role.
