Unversed
Born from the Negative emotions of Vanitas
Unversed are creatures born from Vanitas's negative emotions. They first appear in Birth by Sleep, when Vanitas spreads them across the worlds as part of Xehanort's plans. They are attracted to negative feelings and become stronger through them.
The Unversed are extensions of Vanitas and follow his commands. When defeated, their negativity returns to him, allowing him to create more. Their existence depends on his existence, which is why they disappear with his defeat and return alongside him in Kingdom Hearts III.
Unversed take many shapes, from small creatures like the Flood to large monsters resembling animals or objects. Their red eyes often suggest expressions such as anger or sadness, and most bear the Unversed emblem. They often have thick bodies and sharp points and limbs.
