Sora's story continues in Quadratum while his friends search for a way to bring him back.

After disappearing at the end of Kingdom Hearts III, Sora awakens in an apartment in Quadratum. Strelitzia tells him that he has been asleep for seven days and describes the city as an afterworld for people like them. She is a Keyblade wielder from the Age of Fairytales who was killed before taking her place as a Union leader.

Heartless begin attacking the city, and Sora takes up the Keyblade to fight them. Meanwhile, Donald and Goofy search for a way to reach him, and Mickey investigates the history of Scala ad Caelum. The revealed footage also shows Sora traveling to Disney worlds as his journey continues.

Kingdom Hearts IV begins the Lost Master Saga after the end of the Dark Seeker Saga.
