Kairi
Keyblade Wielder
A Princess of Heart, and a Keyblade wielder in training.
Kairi was born in Radiant Garden but grew up on Destiny Islands after being sent away during Xehanort's (Terranort) experiments. Her heart is one of the rare hearts of pure light. She is close friends with Sora and Riku. When their home was overtaken by the Heartless, her heart sheltered inside Sora. When released she helped restore Sora's heart. Much of their relationship is helping each other. She eventually took up a Keyblade herself, determined to protect her friends further.
After training alongside Lea, Kairi joined the 7 Guardians of Light in Kingdom Hearts III. Unfortnately Xehanort shattered her heart making her the final Heart to create the χ-blade. Sora was able to recover the pieces of her heart and bring her back to life, but at the sacrifice of his existence in reality.
In Melody of Memory, Kairi spent a year asleep while researchers examined her memories for clues to bringing Sora back. She recovered Xehanort's warning about a world beyond light and darkness, helping point the search toward Unreality. After Riku departed for Quadratum, she chose to continue her training under Aqua.
The KHIV trailer includes a brief voice attributed to Kairi, but her next actions and the extent of her role have not been revealed.
