Riku
Keyblade Master
Sora's childhood friend and a Keyblade Master who overcame his own darkness, Riku crosses into unreality to bring Sora back.
Riku grew up with Sora and Kairi on Destiny Islands, longing to escape their small world. His first attempt led him to Maleficent and Ansem, Seeker of Darkness' influence. With help from Mickey and his friends, he regained control and learned to face the darkness in his heart without surrendering to it.
He acts largely as a protector. He helped restore Sora's memories, fought beside him against Xemnas, and rescued him during the Mark of Mastery exam in Dream Drop Distance, earning the title of Keyblade Master. In Kingdom Hearts III, Riku, along with Mickey, searched for Aqua and stood with the guardians against Xehanort.
After Sora vanished, Riku started having recurring dreams of a strange city. In Melody of Memory, the Fairy Godmother brought him and Kairi to the Nameless Star, who recognized the city as Quadratum. Riku opened a portal through that connection and set out alone to find Sora. Kingdom Hearts IV's trailers shows him coming to the group's aid in Quadratum, continuing that rescue mission.
